Meet Hannah

Hannah is a 22 year old, funny, bubbly and wonderful young girl!

In July 2022 at the young age of 19 Hannah was admitted to Derby Hospital with excruciating headaches, blindness, continuous vomiting and dizziness.

After tests and scans, they found a brain tumour the size of her fist in the left frontal lobe.

At the time Hannah was just starting life and was a day away from completing an apprenticeship in Welding at JCB.

Upon discovery of the tumour, Hannah was stabilised before transferral to QMC Neurology and had successful brain surgery removing 97% of the tumour in August 2022. There were 6 very long weeks between surgery and diagnosis due to the complex nature of the tumour. A full genetic analysis was carried out in London. Sadly, the diagnosis was the worst news for Hannah and her family. Grade 4 Glioblastoma. Hannah was given a prognosis of 15 months.

Glioblastoma is the most aggressive form of brain cancer, which seeds and spreads itself through the brain making it almost impossible to remove.
